Le camp assure l'entraînement à la conduite des véhicules à chenilles pour l'armée britannique, ainsi que leur maintenance et leur réparation dans ses ateliers. Good explanations in French, German and English everywhere and the rest (USA, contemporaneous,etc) equally great. The vehicles inside the museum look well maintained, especially the unique French WW1 tanks looked like as they were fresh from the factory. The WW I hall is nice, the WW II fantastic. Home to the world's best collection of tanks. Review of Musee des Blindes Reviewed 8 November 2017 As a History graduat, former intern of the Bovington Tank Museum and most of all, TANK ENTHOUSIAST, I had been looking forward to my first visit at Saumur Tank Museum for a very long time. The museum also featured a nice exhibition about 'great men': well known ww2 commanders and their associated vehicles.

Personally for me, the museum display lacked a story to tell, a guiding exhibition about the history of tanks through the twentieth century(such as in Bovington or Munster where you can see how the T34 lead to the development of the Panther for example).For some reason the bat chat was kept in a seperate tent outside without any info why its not on display.Despite these drawbacks, the museum makes a wonderfull visit for anyone interested in armoured warfare. The German ww2 vehicle display was the largest I've seen so far (excluding Kubinka); It was very interesting to see vehicles like the Flakpanzer Mobelwagen, the bergepenther and the Panther tank with French decals. French mastodonts like the AMX 50 and the ARL 44 were trully a marvellous sight, the Stalingrad Diorama in which the KV-1 and SU-100 were displayed were also very well made.
